Nikki Lycett
BMus(Hons), LRSM (Vocal Performance), PGCE (M)
Nikki graduated from The University of Birmingham in 2005 and received vocal training from Birmingham Conservatoire under the direction of Christine Cairns. In 2006, Nikki completed a PGCE course at Durham University.
Nikki is a former member of the City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Choir, The University of Birmingham Chorus, The University of Birmingham Chamber Choir, St Chads Chapel Choir and Palatinate Voices. Nikki currently performs with St Peters Church Choir, VOX and Pieces of Eight. In addition, Nikki has performed widely as a soprano soloist for Gainford Singers, Guisborough Choral Society, Cleveland Philharmonic Choir and St Peters Choir.
Operatic appearances include Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.
Solo engagements include Handel's Messiah, Rutter's Gloria and Bach Cantatas No. 64, No.66, No. 73 and No.133.
Vocal Recital programmes include works by Schubert, Schumann, Quilter, Strauss, Grieg, Gluck, Mozart, Bach and Handel. These have been held at The Barber Institute of Fine Arts and Guisborough Church.
Nikki currently works at Conyers School where she has established a Choir and Chamber Choir, in addition to working as a vocal tutor for Stagecoach (Darlington), and as a private music teacher across the north east. Nikki is a former Music Director for Tees Valley Voices.
In addition to the listed qualifications, Nikki holds DipABRSM Distinction (Vocal Performance), Grade 8 Singing, Grade 8 Flute and Grade 8 Piano.
